Before you ever touch the cutting edge, this non-woven surface conditioning belt cleans the blade face, strips away surface rust, and erases pocket scuffs. It leaves that beautiful, deep, uniform hazy-satin finish typically reserved for high-end German factory steel blades, instantly elevating the look of the entire knife.

• Step 2: The Apex Setter — 3M™ Cubitron™ II 120 Grit Ceramic The heavy-hitter. Now that the blade is clean, you set the geometry. Powered by 3M's precision-shaped ceramic grain, this belt acts like a microscopic milling tool. It bites aggressively into tough steels to rapidly establish a clean, symmetrical apex and grind past factory micro-chips without building up destructive friction heat.

• Step 3: The Burr Killer — 3M™ Trizact™ A30 (600 Grit) The final refinement. Featuring micro-replicated pyramidal structures that wear down uniformly to expose fresh mineral as you grind.
